Kids at River Lake Church

At River Lake Church, our kids (infant through 5th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.

Your first visit

Here's what to expect when visiting River Lake Kids for the first time:

When you enter our gathering area, we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room.

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

• Parent/guardian name(s)
• Child's name
• Child's birthdate
• Child's grade
• Home address
• Phone number
• Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

How check-in works

Before Service: You can check-in your child at any available kiosk. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag.

After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to River Lake Kids check-in area, show your tag, and your child will be escorted to you.

During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, your child’s identification code will appear on the screen or you will receive a text message. We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and look for a staff member or volunteer who will direct you to your child’s room.

Our Approach

River Lake Kids check-in begins 15 minutes before our 8:00am, 9:45am, and 11:30am services in order to give adults time to grab a cup of coffee and head into the auditorium. During this time, children have a choice of activities until their service starts.

Each River Lake Kids service experience includes energetic music and a Bible story video. Children will also participate in age appropriate small group activities that will help them engage with the Bible story. 

We keep it relevant – all lessons and activities are age appropriate. 

We keep it simple – children will learn basic truths from the Bible using language and examples that they can understand.

We keep it real - children will learn how the Bible can guide them as they make decisions - no matter how

young they are.

River Lake Nursery

We also offer separate nurseries for infants (up to 18 months of age) and toddlers up to 36 months of age. Our nurseries are available for our 8:00am, 9:45am, and 11:30am services. They are adequately staffed with volunteers who love children and want to make sure you can enjoy the worship services without having to worry about your infant. 

The goal of the Nursery Team is to make sure that your child is well cared for during the time they are in their care. They are committed to making sure the nursery is clean, safe, and that children feel nurtured and loved while they are there. 

Feel free to stop by, meet the volunteers, and look at our facility. 

Security

Safety and security are our primary concerns at River Lake Kids. 

Because we want you to be absolutely at ease while your child is with us, we go an extra step or two to put your mind at ease. In addition to a well-defined check in and check out process, no unauthorized individuals are allowed in the River Lake Kids area. We require every adult River Lake Kids volunteer to undergo a background check and we also have security personnel every Sunday during the duration of the service to monitor the River Lake Kids area.
